About

Justin Laube, MD, is a dual board-certified integrative and internal medicine physician, retreat leader, and healing educator with over 15 years of experience caring for patients with mind, body, spirit, and soul imbalances. He is the cofounder and co–medical director for the Institute for Integrative Healology, which is a clinical, educational, and consultancy practice using integrative and embodied approaches to support individuals, groups, and collective healing.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin and got his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. During medical school, he completed a graduate certificate in integrative therapies and healing practices through the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing. He completed his three-year residency training in internal medicine at the University of California in Los Angeles in the primary care track and a two-year fellowship in integrative East-West primary care and acupuncture at the UCLA Health’s Center for East-West Medicine.

In 2024, he completed a multiyear educational sabbatical immersed in embodied trauma healing paradigms and practices where he explored the relationship between childhood attachment trauma, psychospiritual illness, and the healing arc. From these insights, and in collaboration with his wife and integrative palliative care doctor, Thaís Salles Araujo, MD, they birthed the Institute for Integrative Healology, based out of Santa Monica, California.

Previously, Dr. Laube was an assistant clinical professor at the UCLA Health’s Center for East-West Medicine and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he provided holistic primary care and integrative East-West medical consultations. He was the fellowship director at the Center for East-West Medicine and led courses, retreats, and clinical supervision for physician fellows, residents, and medical students.

Alongside his clinical practice and educational offerings, his life centers around his wife, cat Theo, and growing family; enjoying the natural landscape of sunny Southern California, meditating on his breath, and cooking international Cali-fresh meals.
