Tezspire Pre-Filled Pen (Subcutaneous)
Tezepelumab is used together with other medicines to help control severe asthma in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. Tezepelumab is not a fast-acting rescue medicine for asthma attacks.
Tezepelumab is also used together with other medicines to help control symptoms of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (long term sinus inflammation) in adults and children who are at least 12 years old.
Tezepelumab is given after other treatments did not work or stopped working.

What is the most important information I should know about Tezspire Pre-Filled Pen (Subcutaneous)?
You should not use tezepelumab if you are allergic to it.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:
- a severe allergic reaction;
- infection caused by a parasite (helminth); or
- if you are scheduled to receive or have received a live vaccine recently.
Make sure you are current on all vaccines before you start using tezepelumab.
It is not known if tezepelumab will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
Ask a doctor if it is safe to breastfeed while using this medicine.
Side Effects
What are the side effects of Tezspire Pre-Filled Pen (Subcutaneous)?
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Signs of a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction may occur right after the injection or even hours or days after using this medicine. Your treatment may stop if you have this side effect.
Common side effects may include:
- nosebleed;
- pain, bruising, swelling, or irritation where the medicine was injected;
- flu, cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat; or
- joint or back pain.

Interactions
What drugs and food should I avoid while taking Tezspire Pre-Filled Pen (Subcutaneous)?
Avoid receiving a "live" vaccine. The vaccine may not work as well while you are using tezepelumab. Live vaccines may include measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chickenpox), live nasal flu vaccine, and others.
Dosage Guidelines & Tips
How to take Tezspire Pre-Filled Pen (Subcutaneous)?
Use Tezspire Pre-Filled Pen (Subcutaneous) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
Tezepelumab is injected under the skin, usually once every 4 weeks. A healthcare provider will give you this injection when using the vial or the prefilled syringe.
A healthcare provider may teach you how to properly use the prefilled pen by yourself. Read and carefully follow any Instructions for Use provided with your medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you do not understand these instructions.
Prepare an injection only when you are ready to give it. Leave the needle cap on until you are ready to inject your dose. Call your pharmacist if the medicine looks cloudy, has changed colors or has particles in it.
Do not inject within 2 inches of your navel (belly button) or areas where the skin is tender, hard, scaly, damaged, bruised, or has scars. Do not inject into the same place two times in a row.
Throw away a prefilled pen after one use, even if there is still medicine left inside. Do not reuse a needle or pen. Place them in a puncture-proof "sharps" container and dispose of it following state or local laws. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Tezepelumab is not a fast-acting rescue medicine for asthma attacks. Seek medical attention if your breathing problems get worse quickly, or if you think your medications are not working.
Do not change or stop your other medicines, including corticosteroid medicines or other asthma medicines unless your healthcare provider tells you to.
Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse.
Store this medicine in the original container in the refrigerator. Protect from light and do not freeze or shake the medicine.
Take the medicine out of the refrigerator and let it reach room temperature for 60 minutes before injecting your dose. Do not warm a pen with hot water, sunlight, or a microwave.
You may store this medicine at room temperature for up to 30 days. Throw the medicine away if not used within 30 days. Do not put it back into the refrigerator once it has reached room temperature.
Call your doctor for instructions if you miss an appointment for your tezepelumab injection.
If administering yourself: Use the medicine as soon as you remember, and then go back to your regular schedule. If it is already time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and use your next dose at the regular time. Do not use two doses at one time.
