Belantamab mafodotin is available only under a special program. You must be registered in the program and understand the risks and benefits of this medicine.

What is the most important information I should know about Belantamab Mafodotin (Intravenous)?
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:
- problems with your eyes or vision; or
- bleeding problems.
Belantamab mafodotin can harm an unborn baby if the mother or the father is using this medicine.
- If you are a woman, you may need a pregnancy test before starting this treatment. Use birth control while using this medicine and for at least 4 months after your last dose.
- If you are a man, use birth control if your sex partner is able to get pregnant. Keep using birth control for at least 6 months after your last dose.
- Tell your doctor right away if a pregnancy occurs.
This medicine may affect fertility (ability to have children) in both men and women. However, it is important to use birth control to prevent pregnancy because belantamab mafodotin can harm an unborn baby.
Belantamab mafodotin may affect fertility in men or women. Pregnancy could be harder to achieve while either parent is using this medicine.
Do not breastfeed while using this medicine, and for at least 3 months after your last dose.
Side Effects
What are the side effects of Belantamab Mafodotin (Intravenous)?
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Some side effects may occur during the injection. Tell your medical caregiver if you feel dizzy, nauseated, light-headed, itchy, sweaty, or have a headache, chest tightness, back pain, trouble breathing, or swelling in your face.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
- easy bruising, unusual bleeding, purple or red spots under your skin;
- new or worsening eye problems--blurred or decreased vision, dry eyes, increased sensitivity to light, eye irritation, eye pain, or a feeling that something is in your eye;
- signs of eye infection or corneal ulcers--swelling or redness, severe discomfort, crusting or drainage, or sores on the surface of the eye (corneal ulcers), which may occur with or without infection; or
- new or worsening symptoms of lung problems--fever, chills, cough with mucus, chest pain, feeling short of breath.
Your cancer treatments may be reduced, delayed, or permanently discontinued if you have certain side effects.
Common side effects may include:
- eye problems, including changes in vision;
- diarrhea;
- abnormal blood tests;
- liver problems;
- cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat;
- tiredness; or
- COVID-19 infection.

Can I take Belantamab Mafodotin (Intravenous) if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Do not breastfeed while using this medicine, and for at least 3 months after your last dose.
Interactions
What drugs and food should I avoid while taking Belantamab Mafodotin (Intravenous)?
Do not wear contact lenses throughout your treatment unless your eye doctor tells you otherwise.
This medicine may cause blurred vision and may impair your reactions. Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how this medicine will affect you.
Avoid activities that may increase your risk of bleeding or injury. Use extra care while shaving or brushing your teeth.
Dosage Guidelines & Tips
How to take Belantamab Mafodotin (Intravenous)?
Use Belantamab Mafodotin (Intravenous) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Belantamab mafodotin is given as an infusion into a vein, usually every 3 weeks. A healthcare provider will give you this injection. Your doctor will determine the right treatment schedule for you.
This medicine must be given slowly over 30 minutes.
Doses are based on weight. Your dose may change if you gain or lose weight.
You may be given other medications to help prevent serious side effects or allergic reaction. Keep taking these medicines for as long as your doctor has prescribed.
Belantamab mafodotin may cause eye problems without causing any vision changes at first. You may need frequent vision exams before and during treatment with belantamab mafodotin. Do not miss any eye exams. Follow your doctor's schedule.
Belantamab mafodotin can cause changes to the surface of your eyes, which can lead to severe eye problems. Tell your doctor right away if you have any new or worsening eye problems.
You may bleed more easily. Call your doctor right away if you signs of bleeding or have any bleeding that will not stop.
Your blood will need to be tested often. Your cancer treatments may be reduced, delayed, or permanently discontinued based on the results.
Use preservative-free artificial tears at least 4 times every day. Start this on your first day of treatment and keep using them until your treatment ends or as prescribed by your doctor.
Call your doctor for instructions if you miss an appointment for your belantamab mafodotin injection.
