Amlodipine, indapamide, and telmisartan is a combination medicine used in adults to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). This medicine may be used as the first medicine to lower your blood pressure if your doctor decides you are likely to need more than one medicine.

Lowering blood pressure may lower your risk of a stroke or heart attack.

Amlodipine, indapamide, and telmisartan may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

What is the most important information I should know about Amlodipine, Indapamide, And Telmisartan (Oral)?

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to amlodipine, indapamide, telmisartan, sulfa drugs, or any ingredient in this medicine, or if you are unable to urinate.

If you have diabetes, do not take amlodipine, indapamide, and telmisartan with any medication that contains aliskiren (a blood pressure medicine).

You may also need to avoid taking amlodipine, indapamide, and telmisartan with aliskiren if you have kidney disease.

Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:

  • heart problems;
  • an electrolyte or fluid imbalance;
  • glaucoma;
  • gout;
  • a penicillin allergy; or
  • liver or kidney disease.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Amlodipine, indapamide, and telmisartan can harm or cause death to an unborn baby. Stop using this medicine and tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant.

Do not breastfeed while using this medicine.

Not approved for use by anyone younger than 18 years old.

Side Effects

What are the side effects of Amlodipine, Indapamide, And Telmisartan (Oral)?

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Call your doctor at once if you have:

  • a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out;
  • kidney problems--swelling, urinating less, feeling tired or short of breath;
  • signs of an electrolyte imbalance--increased thirst or urination, constipation, muscle weakness, leg cramps, numbness or tingling, feeling jittery, fluttering in your chest;
  • high blood sugar--increased thirst, increased urination, dry mouth, fruity breath odor;
  • eye problems--decreased vision or eye pain; or
  • gout symptoms--joint pain, swelling, or stiffness.

Common side effects may include:

  • low blood pressure; or
  • low sodium or potassium levels in your blood.

Do not take potassium supplements or use salt substitutes, unless your doctor has told you to.

Avoid getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy.

Dosage Guidelines & Tips

How to take Amlodipine, Indapamide, And Telmisartan (Oral)?

Use Amlodipine, Indapamide, And Telmisartan (Oral) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose. Use the medicine exactly as directed.

Take the medicine once per day.

You may take amlodipine, indapamide, and telmisartan with or without food.

Swallow the tablet whole and do not crush, chew, or cut it.

Keep using this medicine even if you feel well. High blood pressure often has no symptoms.

Your blood pressure will need to be checked often. You may need blood tests to check your electrolytes, blood sugar, and kidney function.

Your blood pressure may get too low during prolonged illness. Call your doctor if you are sick with vomiting or diarrhea.

Store at room temperature in the original container, away from moisture, heat, and light. Do not remove a tablet from the bottle until right before you take it.

Take the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at one time.
