Lundberg Family Farms has issued a recall of some 2-pound bags of its Organic Jasmine White Rice because they may contain an unidentified “foreign material,” according to a notice from the grocery chain Wegmans.

Lundberg Family Farms said it had issued a voluntary class 2 recall out of an abundance of caution, and no illnesses or injuries have been reported, according to a statement shared with USA Today.

The recall includes about 4,500 cases of 2-pound bags of Regenerative Organic Certified White Jasmine Rice. Lundberg brand rice is available at many grocery chains across the country, including Target, Whole Foods, Walmart, and Wegmans, although only Wegmans has issued a press release. The recall is not currently listed on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website.

A class 2 event means use of the recalled product can “cause temporary or medically reversible” health problems, and the chances of serious consequences are remote.

The recalled Lundberg Organic Jasmine White Rice has the UPC Code 073416- 040281.

Affected lots have one of two best-by dates and lot codes:

  • 02/01/2027, 260201
  • 02/02/2027, 260202

Do not eat the recalled white rice. Wegmans said customers can return the recalled rice for a refund, and other stores typically offer refunds for recalled goods.
