Yuvezzi (Ophthalmic)
Brimonidine and carbachol ophthalmic (for the eyes) is used to treat presbyopia in adults. Presbyopia is trouble seeing up close.
Brimonidine and carbachol ophthalmic may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

What is the most important information I should know about Yuvezzi (Ophthalmic)?
You should not use brimonidine and carbachol if you are allergic to it.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:
- retina problems or retinal disease;
- iritis (inflammation inside the eye);
- circulation problems, such as Raynaud's syndrome (numbness or cold feeling in your fingers or toes);
- low blood pressure; or
- depression.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Side Effects
What are the side effects of Yuvezzi (Ophthalmic)?
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
- flashes of light or "floaters" in your vision; or
- severe vision problems, including vision loss.
Common side effects may include:
- pain or irritation after using the eye drops;
- blurred vision or trouble seeing clearly; or
- headache.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Interactions
What drugs and food should I avoid while taking Yuvezzi (Ophthalmic)?
This medicine may cause blurred vision and may impair your reactions. Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how this medicine will affect you.
This medicine may make your vision dim or dark for a short time. Be careful with night driving and in low light.
Avoid getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy.
Dosage Guidelines & Tips
How to take Yuvezzi (Ophthalmic)?
Use Yuvezzi (Ophthalmic) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
Remove contact lenses before using the drops. Wait at least 10 minutes after dosing before putting contact lenses back in.
Wash your hands before using eye medication.
To apply the eye drops: Pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket and squeeze a drop into this pocket. Close your eyes for 1 or 2 minutes.
Put one drop in each eye once daily. Follow your doctor's instructions.
One single-dose vial can be used to dose both eyes. Throw away the opened single-dose vial and any leftover medicine right after use.
Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops.
To prevent eye injury or contamination, do not touch the tip of the single-dose vial to your eye, eyelids, or any surface.
Your doctor may do an eye exam, including a retinal exam, before you start treatment.
Tell your doctor right away if you have any eye injury or infection, or if you need to have any type of surgery, especially eye surgery.
Store unused brimonidine and carbachol single-dose vials in the foil pouch at room temperature away from moisture, heat and light. Call your pharmacist if the medicine looks cloudy, has changed colors or has particles in it.
Use the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not use two doses at one time.
