Shanthi Trettin, MD, MA, is double board-certified in psychiatry/neurology and obesity medicine. Dr. Trettin is the founder and owner of her private practice Choice Psychiatric Healthcare, where she has 18 years of clinical experience utilizing an integrated medication-therapy approach. As a creative entrepreneur, she recently established Choice Empowerment, and Choice Progress, devoted to supporting individualized care and problem-solving.
Trettin believes in working with patients through evidence-based medicine and personalized, compassionate, collaborative care. Her areas of expertise span complex psychopharmacology, multisystem functional health, use of a wide trauma lens, and evaluation of unique learning styles. Through her three Choice companies, Trettin offers psychiatric and functional healthcare, supervision, teaching, coaching, a publication, and customized navigation tools.
Outside of work, Trettin is most devoted to her three teenage daughters. She is also a certified yoga instructor, Boston marathoner, and four-time Ironman triathlete.
