About
Pooja Singhal, MD, FACG, DABOM, is a board-certified gastroenterologist, hepatologist, and obesity medicine specialist. She completed her medical school training at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She pursued her internal medicine residency and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where she was selected as chief resident and chief gastroenterology fellow.
Dr. Singhal's clinical training and interests include general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, liver diseases including hepatitis and cirrhosis, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, and women's gastrointestinal health.
Singhal is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and is trained in the Orbera Intragastric Balloon System. She has a special interest in women’s digestive health.
Singhal has been practicing gastroenterology for more than 13 years, during which time she has performed over 12,500 endoscopic procedures. She has been an advocate for community education and has been an active speaker locally and nationally on a variety of topics, such as colorectal cancer prevention, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
She is an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (CCFA), and has served on various CCFA committees dedicated to patient access, care, and quality improvement.
Dr. Singhal is a recipient of several noteworthy honors and awards for her service to the medical profession and her local community. She has been nationally recognized by the American College of Gastroenterology for her efforts to raise awareness of colorectal cancer prevention in Oklahoma for three consecutive years (2017-2019) with the prestigious SCOPY (Service Award for Colorectal Cancer Outreach, Prevention, and Year-Round Excellence) award. She was recently selected as a member of the 2023 American Gastroenterological Association Future Leaders.
Singhal was a part of Oklahoma County Medical Society (OCMS) Leadership Academy Class VII and currently serves on the OCMS board.
She has been actively involved in her community by serving on various boards of nonprofit organizations, such as the Homeless Alliance and the Lyric Theatre. She has also been spotlighted in various lists by news and magazine publications, including The Journal Record’s 40 Under 40 Achievers, Oklahoma Magazine’s 40 under 40 most influential members, and Healio Top 200 GI Physicians. Singhal enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, traveling and exploring the world together.
