Postpartum Depression

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a type of depression that happens after childbirth. Unlike the “baby blues,” which only last for a few days to up to two weeks, PPD lasts for at least two weeks and involves similar symptoms at a greater intensity, including depressed mood, severe mood swings, frequent crying, and difficulty bonding with the baby.
