Should You Change Your Atopic Dermatitis Care Plan? Take the Two-Minute Assessment

If you’ve cycled through enough atopic dermatitis products to stock a pharmacy shelf, you might be wondering what else you can do to keep your condition in check.
First and foremost, you have to “make sure that you’re doing things to prevent skin from becoming dry,” says Marisa Garshick, MD, an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical Center and dermatologist at MDCS Dermatology in New York City. But with so many causes of dry skin, it can be hard to keep your triggers at bay.
While regular moisturizing and topical medications can ease some eczema symptoms, people with moderate or severe atopic dermatitis may need to make other lifestyle changes or add an additional treatment or two to their regimen.
