Zantac 150 (Oral)
Ranitidine is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn.

A cancer-causing impurity found in many ranitidine medications may increase to unacceptable levels over time and when ranitidine is stored at high temperatures. As a result, the FDA has asked all makers of ranitidine to withdraw this medicine from the market in the United States.

- bronchospasm (wheezing, chest tightness, trouble breathing);
- pain in your side or lower back, problems with urination;
- irregular, fast, or slow heartbeat;
- severe headache;
- muscle or joint pain;
- loss of interest in sex, impotence, difficulty having an orgasm, breast swelling or tenderness, or nipple discharge;
- problems with your skin or hair;
- diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, upper stomach pain (that may spread to your back), swelling in your stomach or legs, dark urine, drowsiness, confusion, or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
- blood vessel inflammation--cough, feeling weak or tired, stomach pain, weight loss, skin rash, severe tingling, numbness, chest pain; or
- low blood cell counts--fever, chills, mouth sores, skin sores, easy bruising, unusual bleeding, pale skin, cold hands and feet, feeling light-headed or short of breath.

How to take Zantac 150 (Oral)?
Use Zantac 150 (Oral) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
Your dose needs may change if you switch to a different brand, strength, or form of this medicine. Avoid medication errors by using exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
Ranitidine is usually taken once or twice daily. Your doctor will determine your treatment time depending on the condition being treated.
This medicine may cause false results on a drug-screening urine test. Tell the laboratory staff that you use ranitidine.
Your kidney function may need to be checked often.
You may store this medicine for up to 90 days after first opening. Throw away any unused tablets 90 days after opening the bottle.
Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, come back, or if they get worse.
You may be given other medications, such as antacids, to help relieve pain or discomfort associated with your condition. Keep taking these medicines for as long as your doctor has prescribed or as needed for symptom relief.
Store tightly closed at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Protect from light. Keep the tablets in their original container, along with the packet or canister of moisture-absorbing preservative.
