Idvynso (Oral)
Doravirine and islatravir is a combination antiviral medicine used in adults to treat HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) to replace their current HIV treatment if their virus has been responding to treatment and they have no history of treatment failure or resistance. HIV can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Doravirine and islatravir is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.
Doravirine and islatravir is a complete treatment for HIV and administration with other medicines to treat HIV is not recommended.

What is the most important information I should know about Idvynso (Oral)?
Some drugs should not be used with doravirine and islatravir. Your treatment plan may change if you also use:
- lamivudine;
- emtricitabine;
- phenobarbital or other barbiturate medicine;
- St. John's wort;
- an antibiotic--rifabutin, rifampin, rifapentine;
- cancer medicine--apalutamide, enzalutamide, mitotane;
- HIV or AIDS medicine--efavirenz, nevirapine;
- seizure medicine--carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenytoin, primidone; or
- steroid medicine--dexamethasone, prednisone.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:
- hepatitis B virus infection; or
- liver or kidney disease.
It is not known if doravirine and islatravir will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
To prevent HIV in a newborn baby, use all medications to control your infection during pregnancy. Your name may be listed on an antiviral pregnancy registry.
Ask a doctor if it is safe to breastfeed while using this medicine.
Side Effects
What are the side effects of Idvynso (Oral)?
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction (hives, difficult breathing, swelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (fever, sore throat, burning eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling).
Seek medical treatment if you have a serious drug reaction that can affect many parts of your body. Symptoms may include skin rash, fever, swollen glands, muscle aches, severe weakness, unusual bruising, or yellowing of your skin or eyes.
Less serious side effects may be more likely, or you may have none at all.
Common side effects may include:
- bloating, diarrhea;
- dizziness, tiredness;
- headache; or
- weight gain.

Dosage Guidelines & Tips
How to take Idvynso (Oral)?
Use Idvynso (Oral) exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
Doravirine and islatravir is usually taken once per day. If you also take a medicine called rifabutin, you may also need to take an additional dose of doravirine about 12 hours after your usual dose during treatment with this medicine. Follow your doctor's dosing instructions very carefully.
You may take doravirine and islatravir with or without food. Take the medicine at the same time each day.
Do not change your dose or stop using a medicine without your doctor's advice. Remain under the care of a doctor.
Store tightly closed at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the medicine in the original container, along with the packet or canister of moisture-absorbing preservative. Do not put the doravirine and islatravir tablets into a daily pill box.
Take the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at one time.
Get your prescription refilled before you run out of medicine completely. Skipping doses may increase the risk of your virus becoming resistant to medication.
