About
Wendy Wisner is a freelance health and parenting writer, poet, and memoirist. Her areas of focus are general health and wellness, reproductive and postpartum health, infant and child health, mental health, nutrition, personal finance, aging and senior health, and parenting.
Wisner has published hundreds of essays in places like The Washington Post, Vice, Family Circle, Parents Magazine, Lilith Magazine, and Rewire. She’s also provided content for companies like Care.com, SingleCare, Mattress Firm, Motherlove Herbals, Verizon, Talkspace, and Public Goods. From 2016 to 2021, she worked at Scary Mommy in several roles, including staff writer, social media manager, and associate editor.
Wisner is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), lactation educator and counselor, and retired La Leche League leader. She led breastfeeding support groups for many years, taught breastfeeding classes, and owned a private lactation consultant practice for five years. Now she supports breastfeeding parents by writing compassionate, evidence-based articles about breastfeeding, reproductive and postpartum health, infant and child health, and more.
