Sarah Bence, OTR/L, is an experienced health and travel writer with a background as an occupational therapist. As an occupational therapist, Bence worked in home care and memory care settings in Michigan and California, treating patients across the lifespan.
Bence’s health writing has appeared in a variety of publications, such as Verywell Health, Healthline, Health Central, Health, Yoga Journal, and more. She has also traveled to more than 50 countries and written extensively for travel outlets such as Time magazine, Afar, Business Insider, and more.
Bence is a patient advocate, having been diagnosed with celiac disease, endometriosis, and lupus. She’s passionate about combining her interests in travel, health, and occupational science to promote accessibility. In 2015, she founded one of the world’s first gluten-free travel blogs, Endless Distances, to make travel more accessible to fellow celiacs. Here, she shares gluten-free travel tips to an audience of more than 120,000 monthly viewers and 25,000 Instagram followers.
Originally from Michigan, Bence now lives in London with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and wheel-throwing pottery.
