Kate Horowitz is a science writer, essayist, poet, and visual artist in Maine. She has a master’s degree in science–medical writing from Johns Hopkins University, where she was named an outstanding graduate. Her science and medical writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Popular Mechanics, National Geographic News, The Washington Post, and more. Her essay “Bat Facts” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and received honorable mention in The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2023.
